Media Download

I downloaded all videos of the resource "DIY Bible Study Videos". However, each time I close down Logos and start it up again, I get again the option to download all media. When I select it, the download starts again. Does anybody else have this problem?

I use Logos 6 on a Mac.

I don't have any problems. All my media (121Gb!) stays downloaded.

I'm on Windows. My media folder is on my e: drive, using a symbolic link (which is an unsupported configirrational, but one that I've never had any problems with).

Is there anybody on Mac who has the resource "DIY Bible Study Videos" who would be willing to try this out?

Step 1: Open resource "DIY Bible Study Videos"

Step 2: Download all media of this resource

Step 3: Close Logos

Step 4: Restart Logos

Step 5: Is still all media downloaded?

What does "Get Info" show for size of your WebCache folder ?

~/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/<random>/WebCache

Note: <random> is a random folder name, which has format of ########.## (8 characters dot 3 characters).

Also, your Library ( ~/Library ) is hidden by default on OS X; can use Finder => Go To Folder to open it.

Apologies since have not tried downloading 121 GB of DIY videos on OS X due to lack of space (250 GB SSD volume has 65 GB Available).

Observation: 90 GB + 25 GB = 115 GB, which is not enough space for download of 121 GB.

121 GB of DIY videos

The DIY videos are not 121Gb. That figures refers to the total size of my WebCache folder which includes several mobileEd courses.

I'm wondering if individual media files in the WebCache folder can be backed up on one computer and copied to another computer, or if the WebCache folder has to be synchronized with other folders within the main Data folder.

If individual files can be transferred, is there a way to identify which files are Mobile Ed Files? And more specifically, is there a way to identify to which Mobile Ed course a particular file belongs?

I have used the Wiki methods to copy the entire data folder after getting a new computer, but I have three computers and typically, my watching of any one Mobile Ed course has been split across all three machines so no single machine has all the video segments in the WebCache folder for any one particular course. Perhaps it would be more trouble than it's worth, but I'm curious if my only option for getting all of a course's video segments on each machine is to download them over the internet to each computer via the "Download all Media" option within Logos.

I guess I'll pose the same questions regarding the text portion of the courses as I would also like to have the text on each machine.

Individual media files can't be copied from one computer to another. Nor could you easily merge multiple folders into one. It appears that copying over the entire WebCache folder (including CacheData.db) would work, though.

Thank you, Mark. I had a feeling it might have me walking into something of a briar patch. [:O] Guess the easiest option is just to download the media for each course to one computer and then copy the entire WebCache folder to the others.
