Create Reading Plan Outside of Verbum/Logos

Is there a way to create a file (XML/JSON/CSV/etc.) outside of the Verbum 6 application that can be later imported into Verbum? I am working on building a year long reading plan of multiple resources, and I find it time consuming to build it in the custom reading plan section.

I can easily generate the text and format it as needed in another application if I can figure out what the file format is that Verbum is looking for.

I checked the forums, but couldn't find anything helpful.
