Restoring removed annotations
I bumped up against a harsh limitation in Logos today, the inability to restore a note with in a document. Two hours of writing gone in a click. It appears Logos is limited to restoring deleted documents, but incapable of restoring individual note files.
Logos would be greatly enhanced if the undo button or the undelete at Logos.com could restore a note nested in a document. In fact Logos.com should change the official name of notes created with in a note, this confusion probably keeps developers from seeing the important function of restoring a note as well as the file it was created in.
I think this is true, any comments?

Grr, I hate it when that happens!
But, for future reference, if you hit Command-Z or Control-Z immediately after accidentally deleting a note, you can restore it.

Hi Levy, I have tried that just a moment ago, control Z (windows) does not restore a note.
I hover over the verse, I left click, I choose add a note, I make the note, I hover over the icon before the verse that represents the note, I click remove annotation, and it is gone irretrievably.
This is my experience... I wonder what is going on.

So if I delete from the note itself, the button on the right, control Z works, but if you use the pop up menu, no dice.
Rewriting is the heart of writing anyway.

I agree with you, Logos needs to improve in this area.

Amen. You are in the company of great writers when you rewrite and rewrite and rewrite.
Personally, I don't use Logos Notes for writing—this is just one issue why not—but I did have a thought that might help you:
Do you use a copy/paste manager? If you do, you know that it remembers the last x number things that you copied. Mine remembers 100. There are times when I am working on something, like typing a long message in a web forum, that I want to save my progress as I go along. So I'll "Select All" (Command-A) and then "Copy" (Command-C) and then keep writing. The Copy Manager saves it. It's a manual method, but only takes a second to do, and what's a second when you are doing a couple hours of work?

I believe the official terminology is Notes Document and note with that use of capitalization.

Levi, I am 55 and never heard of a copy past manager. I will google that.

Just did this and no, Ctrl + Z does not undo it. I'm going to quit taking notes in line, too fragile.

This is very discouraging.
I just accidentally removed notes that I had been accumulating for one particular verse over the years.
I have done nothing withing logos since the removal of the note and have not closed logos.
I hope i can find a solution ...
The fact that Logos does not have a trash can or some means by which we can retrieve our notes before permanently deleting them is a major flaw in the programming.
Did anyone find a solution to this?

The Notes Tool in Logos 8 has a “trash can” facility. See discussion at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/173838/1003553.aspx#1003553
