Yes, I understand why prioritization is a hard nut to crack in terms of getting it to work well for everyone. However, some improvements could be made without completely reworking the system.
- Provide us with a display of the top 10 resources prioritized for a particular datatype with a more option. Show the combined results of our personal prioritization and the Logos default. This would make it much easier to determine why we are not getting the results we expected/intended.
- Allow simplified input, perhaps only a check box, for a common "advanced setting" - having references in a Bible other than our highest priority Bible show up in the same translation we are reading i.e. a Bible is prioritized to refer to itself.
- Allow simplified input, no more than the title or abbreviated title of a Bible, to set "advanced priority" of any resource to a particular Bible. This could be the first step in allowing us to easily see a passage in the translation intended by the author.
- Allow simplified input, preferably a check box beside relevant datatypes, to allow us to exclude a particular resource from prioritization on a particular datatype. For example, the Catechism of the Catholic Church has a glossary at the back so it is often chosen for and English headword by accident of prioritization not by intention. If I could simply say "exclude from English headword priorities" I would solve my problem without having to spend lots of time determining where it must fall in a long list to get the results I want without other unintended results.
