This is one of the books that is missing from the Studies in Dead Sea Scrolls & Related Literature by Eerdmans.
For some reason FL has not included this in the rest of the ongoing publishlings.
The Dead Sea Scrolls and the Hasmonean State
mm.
Thank you, Milkman!
The book looked so interesting, I couldn't resist. So I got the Kindle for $15.
It's really quite good and hard to stop reading. Essentially it links up DSS, the OT apocrypha, and Josephus. The true potential of Logos. He speaks much to the likely sources, changes from sources, and a historical/archaeological/scrolls combination.
Optimally the book would be in Logos, and included in 3 collections ... 2nd Temple, DSS, and ESPECIALLY Josephus. It is one of the better discussions of the Antiquities, where Josephus ran out of greek.
Wait for pre-pub, gathering interest, in development, etc?? Or $15. Tough call, given pre-pub deletes.
Now you're making me double think my decision re: a Kindle copy. hhmmmmm
