Updates to app.logos.com and app.verbum.com
New Release
We launched a significant update to app.logos.com and app.verbum.com today!
Today's update allows for 1-4 tile layouts and adapts to fit phones and tablets. Additionally, the site is much more responsive.
With this release, there are a few features from the previous version that are currently missing, but should be available soon. They are:
- Opening the last-viewed resources by default
- Panel linking
- Resource share menu
- Text comparison tool
- Table of contents
If you visit the site and notice anything wrong/missing that's not on this list, please let us know.

- That "Aa" button is broken.
- No parallel passage on "//".
- No TOC
- Is that button with the "up arrow" suppose to do anything?
- Very slow when scrolling (when reading a book, it doesn't show the text immediately)

Can you provide more details about the errors you encountered? (the resource you were using, OS, browser, browser version, etc.) To the best of my knowledge, these features are working.
mike said:No TOC
This is mentioned in the original post.

That is the "resource share menu", which is mentioned in the original post.

As far as I can remember, that "Aa" suppose to show something more, no?
The missing items are the options for panel linking and table of contents.
It appears that parallel resources is working for Bibles, but not for all resources. I will ensure that this is fixed soon.

Thanks for updates - I notice 3 things - with the experimental resource display it takes longer to load the LGNTI than to load logos desktop and view it. On a Macbook Pro i7 16gb ram in firefox.
Also if its possible at some stage I would far prefer 3 and 4 panel layouts which are all side by side than a second row.
You also switched the library view to be tiny by default like on the desktop app. This is a problem in both the web app and desktop app. With 6000 books I don't want to see just 4 at a time.
Cheers,
John

We've deployed some changes that significantly reduce load times for book content.

David,
At the moment I'm seeing load times of up to 30 secs...

For me app.logos.com is completely broken. It is stuck on Revelation 22:6 no matter what Bible I open.

Joel, Please give your platform and browser details.

I like the changes that have been made.
Thanks for continuing to move this project forward.
I have noticed on mobile devices (e.g. iPad and iPhone) I am not able to select the pane in which a new resource should be added.
I am also not able to move tabs between panes.
Is this something that will be added?
Also, on my iPhone, the Resource Splash Screen when you open a resource goes off screen.
Thanks,
David

Logos,
Again, I like the improvements...a lot.
I did notice that there is no Layout that splits the screen only in two horizontally.
_______
| A |
_______
| B |
_______
That seems to be a pretty standard layout on an iPad or iPhone.
Thanks,
David

Hi David,
Thanks for the feedback.
A new resource should be added to the top pane first, then the next empty pane, then after that whatever pane is active. You should be able to make any pane active by clicking (or touching on a touch screen) inside the panel.David Schlup said:I have noticed on mobile devices (e.g. iPad and iPhone) I am not able to select the pane in which a new resource should be added.
Tabs can be dragged and dropped on non touch devices only right now. We do plan to support being able to move tabs between panes.David Schlup said:I am also not able to move tabs between panes.
Could you give me a screen shot for this, or what resource you're seeing it in?David Schlup said:Also, on my iPhone, the Resource Splash Screen when you open a resource goes off screen.
Thanks,Seth Copeland

Generally in portrait mode the two panes should be stacked on top of one another, and in landscape mode they should be side by side.David Schlup said:I did notice that there is no Layout that splits the screen only in two horizontally.
If this isn't the case, or if I'm not understanding the problem correctly, let me know. Perhaps we should consider an option to decide if you want them side by side or stacked on top?

Seth,
Thanks for your reply.
I do see that new resources are first added to the top, then the empty and then which pane I select.
Is there a way to be able to select the pane before the other panes are filled with an initial resource?
Also, here are some screen shots of the splash screen as it goes of the screen.
Again, all of these changes are a great improvement. I really appreciate all of your work.
David

Seth,
On my iPad I am not given the option to have a split screen horizontally, even if it is in portrait mode.
I do have a split horizontal screen on my iPhone.
Here is a screenshot
Notice that it allows for "Two Panes," but when selected it, it is only vertical in portrait and landscape mode.
Thanks.

Seth,
It also seems as though on the Desktop Version there should be an option for a Two Pane, Horizontal layout.
I only see a Two Pane, Vertical layout.
There are times where you need to be taking notes next to the browser window. So to have a Two Pane, Horizontal would be really helpful.
Thanks,
David

Personally I'd love a 3 column layout with passage guide, bible, and commentary!

Thanks for the feedback on the layout options that you'd like to see. We'll look into providing these in the near future.

Hey, just want to mention it has not escaped my attention how nicely improved is app.logos.com. Not just continual functional improvements, but things seem snappier, tighter. Thanks.

I'm having an intermittent login issue. Not sure if it is related to my other issues (default bible on mobile apps can't be changed from Svent Bible. Biblia.com default bible defaults to Luther Bible, etc.) or not. And now I go to app.logos.com and get an invalid password message. I close the web page tab, go back to app.logos.com, and I can once again login.
I'm having multiple issues on multiple platforms (Desktop, Mobile, and Web) and not sure where the problem is originating. Can a Faithlife tech or engineer please look at account configuration? I only have 1 account that I use on Logos.

What happened to the split screen?

Hi Donald:
This is from another thread:
Daniel Di Bartolo said:Trent said:The split screen view allowed you to open different resource within the screen but now forces the user to tab view. I used split screen a lot.
Hi Trent, you can have a split screen/tabs still. Tap the Tabs icon in the bottom nav bar-- and then when you're zoomed out, there's an icon in the top right corner of the tab that you press to split it.
As for the mobile ed issue-- that's a bug that we're working to fix.
Thanks for sharing-- we hope you'll give us another try!
[EDIT] I should add that I understood tacitly that your question was a conflation of the web app and the mobile app. I assume you are referring to the mobile app.

Can you be more specific please?
Various layout options are supported - selected from the Layout button
Or did you mean something else?

I was talking about the app for the iPad.

Thanks. That doesn’t help in my situation. I used to use the passage guide on the left hand side and as I selected resources they would appear in the right hand split screen. Now it just opens another tab. Is there a way to do what I have always done?
Sorry - but this is currently how the updated app works. A number of people have expressed similar concerns to yours.

Apologies - questions about that are best in the mobile readers forum at https://community.logos.com/forums/142.aspx
