I know how to find the translation of my preference, but I'm unable to find a way for my preference to come up by default each time I visit. Is this not possible?
If you leave a Bible open in the left pane for a minute or two, it will become the preferred Bible for future visits.
Additionally, you can click on the circle next to a Bible on the library tab in order for it to become the preferred Bible for footnotes:
