because of the multi-part nature of this request I will quote it:
[quote]
1. Offer a bolder yellow highlighter. The current yellow is like a faded marker.
2. Allow highlighting in footnotes. For some reason they can't be highlighted.
3. Enable all Ctrl-Z functionality. Seriously, this is an irritating problem. It's tricky to select exactly what one wants to highlight. If one makes a mistake, he has to go open up the tool, re-select, and erase. WORSE, I just made a very slight slip that ended up highlighting a whole large section. I had no choice but to erase it all... which meant losing all my previous highlighting. It should be subject to Ctrl-Z step by step undoing just like everything else in Windows
My assessment:
1. I personally am more concerned about having more color options ... making one bolder is fine but not sufficient.
2. There are some structural reasons that footnotes can't be highlighted. I want the entire problem addressed so that footnotes can do everything surface text can while remaining footnote text. I would also like to change their search behavior so that each footnote is treated independently much like a "verse". However, I also understand why this is a cataclysmic change I should not expect in the short term.
3. I agree that the undo feature should be improved ... but also wish for a way to train users to simply remove the highlight note from the Notes document when a select and delete might mess things up. In other words, the current situation is nowhere near as dire as many users think ... which means that the solution is not obvious to many users.
