Suggestion: Logos 7 - Commentary Library View

I'd like to be able to see a view of my Bible Commentaries equivalent to type:"bible commentary" in 'Cover view' but sorted line by line in canonical order. As a special bonus I'd like to be able to drag them into preference order and have that affect their prioritization. It seems to me that it is easiest to prioritize series but in practice I would rather choose on a book by book basis.

This could also be one of a few new views designed improve the browsing pleasure of owning a library.

Good idea!

I would like to add some sort of browsing feature for the commentaries (I counted more than seventy for one passage I checked).

The browsing feature would go from one commentary to the next in my priority order or manually jump where I want to.

When opening the next commentary, it should always open at the nearest point to my original milestone without drifting elsewhere during the browsing.

And it should automatically mark which ones I've already opened during that session, and I should have a way to mark those I want to return during that session.

Those are some really good ideas. I'd like those features as well.

Also, I'd like more detailed tagging of "bible commentaries". For example:

1. Background Commentaries - generally focus on providing historical and cultural background behind passages.

2. Historical Commentaries - written before the mid-20th century (exegetical methodology has improved significantly since then, but these older commentaries still give valuable insights on how the Bible was interpreted throughout the history of the Church). Historical commentaries could even be further grouped in Patristic, Medieval, Reformation, and so forth.

3. Expository Commentaries - easy to read, focuses on application, and often includes multiple illustrations. (footnotes and original language references would hardly be found here).

4. Academic Commentaries - technical, detailed, analyzes aspects of language and grammar of the Greek, Hebrew, and/or Aramaic, explores various interpretations from different theological perspectives, and so forth.

I'm sure there are other ways to divide up the commentaries, but that's a general idea of what I'm hoping for. Also, tagging them with their specific theological perspective would also be helpful (be it denominational, or some more generalized theological perspective). There are times when I have purchased a collection or bundle that included a few books that I was not familiar with. Those informative tags theological on commentaries would be helpful.
