Observation

I just discovered another reason to keep L3 installed. If I copy the URL of an L4 resource and paste it into OneNote, the L3 resource is opened when it is selected. Am I missing something - will URL eventually point to the L4 resources?

That is a problem with your setup. It should open L4 when you click on a hyperlink in OneNote (or anywhere for that matter). If you reinstalled L3 after having installed L4, then L3 will have hijacked your libronixdls protocol back again to cause itself to be launched when you click on a link. Here's the info on how to fix that problem without having to uninstall L4 and reinstall it again (which would also presumably do the trick, but it's a pain and time consuming):

Thanks - that is exactly what I have done. I work on the registry tomorrow, when I am more rested.
