I suspect that there are other similar needs floating around, especially as more foreign languages are coming on board. This is an obvious need for which the main things determining priority is the number of users who need it ... so if you need this or similar expansions to citations get your votes in and use comments and the forums to ensure your specific needs are included in Faithlife's planning.
I think full custom citations are the way to go. Then users can share our strings and there is no need to clutter the average user with arcane styles.
So I might click "New Citation Style" and get three text boxes, where I could put the variables:
Name: Justin's Remembering Where it Came from Association.
Footnote/In Text (toggle):
Bibliography/Works Cited (toggle):
For example ($authorlast, $publicationyear) for in text would get something like (Carson and Moo, 1999). ($authorlast[1], $publicationyear) would ideally give (Carson, 1999), but that may be too picky for a first iteration.
