I see that there has been enough reallocation of votes that I missed a couple of items that moved up in priorities - good going.

This request is one that I suspect will always be needed based on the problems reported on the forums. The issues that make these functions important:

• new users simply have no idea as to how ((or why) to organize their notes. Some have a significant number of notes before they realize that they need to organize them.
• on the forums people tend to assume that others use notes the way that they themselves use notes - leading sometimes to bad advice since both what you are trying to achieve in your notes and how you use notes may change the "best solution"
• people tend not to understand the power of being able to merge highlights/notes/labels/multi-attachment points into single a single Note. The results is that an experienced user working on a particular project may wish to reorganize their notes.

So yes, this is one of those requests that I believe to affect many users and to need prioritizing accordingly.

I would like to add my voice to this (I already voted).

No matter how experienced one is, no matter how carefully one has thought out their organization, their notes will likely continue to grow in size over time.  Sooner or later, a given note file will become unwieldy and need to be dealt with.  An automated split function that ensured no loss of integrity of the links involved would be useful.

Also, I can see a use for merging notes files in a non destructive manner.  For example, I might have notes on subject A and subject B and would like to do some work on subject C which is a superset of A and B.  For a temporary period, I might be willing to trade speed for ease of access to all of the notes.  Being able to create a new notes file from A and B without destroying the original A and B could be useful.
