Mac version: it would be great to have the tabs function as they do in Safari browser, whereby closing the tab is an 'x' within the tab.

Safari allows mouse hover on any tab to show "x" for closure.  Logos and Verbum only show "x" on active tab so closing an inactive tab requires two clicks.
