In trying to help a fellow forum user, I could find no way to limit the preview text:
However, the end point is known because it is respected in the quotes view

Text range note attachments know their start and end positions. That is why the quotes view can display the exact text range. The link is just a start position, it does not have a defined end, and AFAIK links do not support defining an end position.
