Tried openning the reading lists from the homepage and it will not display the results. If you try closing it, the program locks up. to use task manager via the process tab. Repeatable. 3683.Logos4.logto close the program.

When you click on a reading list link on home page ribbon, does the Reading List panel open? Is that where the results are not displayed? And, is the app crashing when you close the panel? Does this happen with a specific link or any of them?
Actually, I should confirm whether the problem is with Reading Lists or Reading Plans (these features often get interchanged).
From the home page select "word" (that is one of the options that I have) from the list of three words. It opens the Reading list pane, and then the marker starts scrolling to show that it is working. The problem is that it never seems to complete.
I can continue to work as long as I do not try to stop it from doing what it is doing by closing the pane. Once I try to close the pane, everything freezes up and I have to close the software from "Task Manager". Repeatable.
It happens with any of them although when the program is restarted, the info will show up once it select the word.

I don't understand where you mean when you say "word" is one of three options you have. The tool bar at the top has options such as: home, library, search, files, guides, tools ... the ribbon has entries like reading plan, prayer list, preferred Bible, lectionary. Are you trying to say that on the ribbon you have a reading plan named "Word"? If so, what resource is it tracking for your reading?

He's probably talking about the third item in this list:
If I click on that "Word" it brings up an empty reading list, which I can close with no problem, no crashing. This is evidently an empty Reading List on topics.logos.com: http://topics.logos.com/?Word&id=f7f018ca-8d66-478d-b128-02baca9d8d25.
Lynden, is it this reading list by Mike Laurence that you were clicking on and getting the crash?
Hold on, I've just reproduced (I think) the hang that Lynden was seeing. When I chose Martha's reading list "Aaron's Rod" it was in this state of "thinking" (with the moving progress bar), without having filled in any of the contents, forever:
I eventually gave up waiting and clicked "All lists" -- which came up fine, but the progress bar was still looking busy. From there I selected "Aaron's Rod" again. This time the contents populated OK, and the progress bar was still in motion. When I clicked the X to close this list, Logos hung. No crash message, but I had to terminate the process. This is with 4.0b Beta 12. Will work on a consistently reproducible case and post logs anon.
The Word entry is incomplete ... I've neglected screening updates to topics .... I'll go through them shortly. But it is a Logos bug if Logos can't deal with the problems.
Before terminating the process, I collected some info (just in case I wasn't able to reproduce this):
Here's the process info from Process Explorer:
Here are the threads:
Note the state of the main Logos4.exe thread is Wait:UserRequest.

Here is the info for this thread which appears to be hogging all the cycles:
OK. It's quite reproducible for me. I sometimes have to be quick to catch it, but if you click on the X to close the Reading List panel while the progress bar is still moving, Logos hangs and never comes out of it. You've got to kill the process. And because it sometimes gets into this state of taking forever to populate the Reading List (I haven't figured out why/when it does that, it is sporadic, but it does it often enough), it's quite easy to stumble into this bug.
Here's the log file: 4024.ReadingListHang.zip
Okay, I think I've made the necessary correction ... Word had two entries, one good one not so good.
It's still coming up empty in Logos. Where is it getting the name "Mike Laurence" anyway, as the author of this list? I did a Google search for: Laurence site:topics.logos.com and found zip.
And the hang is unrelated and is still happening.
Where is it getting the name "Mike Laurence" anyway, as the author of this list?
The name is in the wiki entry and, yes, I left the reading list empty as Mike had left it. Interesting - I'm not getting the hang.

Are we looking at the same wiki entry, or am I just blind? I don't see any name in there (this is from http://topics.logos.com/Word, if I click on the most recently edited version of it).
But this is how it shows up in Logos:
When I click Edit, it takes me to here:
And clicking on that top Word link takes me back to that top graphic that does not have Mike's name. I don't understand why the discrepancy.
Thanks ladies. Nice to know that it is not something unique to my system.
Are we looking at the same wiki entry, or am I just blind?
Since you didn't give me the option of same wiki but I'm looking at the source, you are recently blind - so recently that you are not aware of it yet. Would a black lab and a red-tipped white cane be useful?
Note: history is:
version 1: basic template by Logos
version 2: duplicate entry, mainly empty by Mike Laurence
version 3: merging Mike's work into Logos template - or at least that is what I was attempting to do.
I also reported this same freeze from a different Reading List (Leviathan) in another thread.

Not blind, but stupid. Thanks. I can see it clearly now when I'm looking in the right place!
Note to Melissa: this does not override the fact that the hang is still there, reproducible by me and Lynden, even if Martha can't reproduce it.
Thanks for the logs and additional information; we'll look into this.
Update: We were not able to reproduce this in-house, however, we did remove a change made in 4.0b Beta 3 that might have caused the problem. This fix will be in the next beta.
Thanks Melissa. For working so hard, please take the rest of the day off.
Can we afford for Melissa to take any time off? [8-|] Perhaps we should all petition Bob to double her pay.
I appreciate all the comments, but you should know that I'm not one of the developers who is actually working on the software. ;o) Thanks.

Double her pay, and an all expense paid visit to the Bahamas. Get away from the cold.
Reading List is fixed. Thanks Logos.
