BUG: Consistent excessive time building label attribute pick list

In the Text Creation Partnership materials, a number of sermons have the following title: "A SERMON, &C.". It consistently takes a very long time ( > 3 minutes) for this value to build the list as an attributes, and it doesn't update unless it has ... very annoying, slows down work ....

What version of the software are you using? If 6.12 Beta 1, is this a change in performance you've observed in this version?

I was never able to see times like you indicated (> 3 minutes). In my tests, longer titles could result in ~6 second times, and short titles ending in very short words (as in your example) could take ~2 seconds. I'm not sure how you would get such excessive times. As Bradley indicated, a log and screencast could help determine what's going on there.

Beta 3 should show some significant improvement in performance for long titles, but performance will still be slow if the title ends in a very short word. This is for the same reason that searching your entire library for a* can take a while to complete. I don't expect there to be any short term improvements in that area.

I did investigate allowing you to accept the exact text you've typed and move on, but this turns out to be surprisingly difficult to fix, and I don't have any estimate when this will be improved.

Yup. I was using that in my testing. It took 2 seconds for the popup to finish showing suggestions.

I tried to get a video ... but after watching the spinner for 15 minutes I quit without finishing a video. I had entered Jacob at the beginning to prove that it wasn't a problem of an initial load. I hope the logs are enough.
