Number of Resources on Iphone

If you have room on your iPhone 6, is there a down side to downloading all of your resources (a large number of books)?  Does it slow down the App?  Or should you just download resources as you need them?

    General recommendation - so long as you have good, reliable Internet connection - is to just download the ones you need when offline or access particularly regularly.

    I don't think it particularly slows down the app having more resources downloaded but it does make it more difficult (painful) to reinstall the app if required as all the resources need to be downloaded again.
