Would anyone be willing to offer their opinion of the comparison between the following two New Testament commentaries?

They seem to be in the same general price range. The IVP series is on sale this month.
Both seem to be pretty comparable in that they are intermediate in their depth (how technical they are). Mostly transliterated when discussing Greek, though sometimes you will see terms in Greek. Black's has the author's translation of the actual Bible text at the beginning of the section. Black's also makes key phrases Bold.
Comparing Romans for both volumes, IVP comes out about 200 pages longer. But either way, when comparing series, IMO, it's going to come down to a volume per volume preference (favorite authors etc), after you've seen the similarities which every volume shares. Here's a shot of them...

Individual volumes may vary, but I think the IVP overall comes more into the evangelical direction, while the Black's leans somewhat more towards a liberal direction.
