A14 Question: Cover Images Still Missing?

If you delete your /Users/<your_user_id>/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/<some_other_id>/LibraryCatalog folder and restart, does that help?

Tried that today. Unfortunately it didn't change anything. Still no cover image for any book in my entire library.

I have been reporting this one since the early Alphas. I have even tried a complete, clean re-install including downloading all the resources and re-indexing.

Nothing yet seems to work, and nobody else seemed to have the issue.

I am using a three year old (ish) white Macbook .. could that be where the issue lies?

Thanks, Tom, but that did not change it: . I noticed it running through different stages of preparing the library before it opened (stage 2 when I noticed it), then it downloaded a small (8.3kb?) file. I'm on a 2.4 black Macbook, 6 gb ram.

The images should be stored in the LibraryCatalog.db when they are generated. Can any of you do us the favor of deleting your LibraryCatalog.db again and then restarting the app. Once the app starts, close it down and post your logs in this thread?

We'll have to do some investigating, but usually when we see GDIPlus errors, the problem has been with certain fonts installed on the user's system. That may or may not be the case here. I'll file a bug.

Here are the 16a Logs, but with a bit of an error on my part. Instead of copying the log file from the Logos folder, I moved it [:$] and a new log was regenerated.

I have zipped the console output from both logs.

Once you're done indexing, if you have no cover images, can you send me your logs again? I don't see any errors in the indexer about not having cover images and I think the indexing the new resources is cluttering the logs.

Will do ... I will leave it going over night ... no idea when it will be finished though ... the estimates have gone from 5 hours to 9 hours within the last hour.

Alpha 19 has fixed the crashing after 4 seconds on my new Macbook and I now have Icons.

Unfortunately, Janice's older white Macbook still has no icons, even under Alpha 19 (it is currently re-indexing but then it always seems to be in a state of re-indexing).

BTW. At the end of step 1 in Joe's excellent piece about reporting logs, Joe talks about

"If the indexer is running you will see the small blue logos icon in the

menu bar, shut it down by Left clicking and select the option for
“Cancel Indexing” and restart Logos 4 and the Indexer."

I cannot see a Cancel Indexing, only a Pause Indexing.
