It would be so simple to require a second step in creating a new user account to greatly eliminate the spam, along with the banning of spam user names. Getting 4-5 emails a day, if one subscribes to the forums, on "HADOOP TRAINING" etc. is exasperating and insulting that it's not addressed. It's great they are manually deleted on the forums by the MVPs, but that doesn't help those who subscribe by email at all. Imagine what the outrage would be if none of them were manually deleted in the forums and everyone got to see what I see daily; people would get fed up with this.
I don't expect anything to come of this as it has been discussed quite a few times in the past, I mention it now with fleeting hope knowing my needs/interests don't matter very much.
