Sharing Sermon Notes and Weekly devotional

As a pastor who is encouraging the church family to use Logos for following the service with Proclaim, prayer requests with Faithlife/Logos Mobile apps, and Reading Plans, there is one more feature which would make the apps THE tool for the church.

Each week I make paper sermon notes, and homework/devotional materials. I would love to have this as a Logos resource that they could get on their mobile app with the scripture references, points, and text boxes to fill in like Mobile ed courses utilize!

This would make the sermon notes and weekly homework/devotional materials a real tool for the individuals and church family to grow and study together. Having it in Logos makes the scripture links more useful, and the notes would not be left behind or lost like the papers. Also, what a resource if it was all searchable in Logos!

I believe this would take Logos above and beyond all other bible apps out there and make Faithlife much more desirable.

I would love if people would get behind this idea!

The framework is already there to do this sort of thing. The only thing you currently could not do is have the text boxes.  All you need to do is setup a faithlife group for your church and then within that group share a notes file with all of the sermon notes etc.  There can even be discussions held within that group. To take it to the next level and get the text boxes into the material like you would like to see all that needs to happen is the ability to upload and share personal books to the same faithlife group. At the moment only personal book meta-data can be uploaded and only for your use, not for others so this is a bigger hurdle to overcome that Faithlife have wrestled with for a long time due to extra load on servers and the costs involved because as soon as you allow open slather on personal books being shared we are not going to be satisfied with sharing text only books, but we'll want to include diagrams and images and this will blow out file sizes but for your purpose if there was a file size limit it might be doable but even for these sort of study materials we like to include diagrams, maps or images so would we as a user base be satisfied only being able to share personal books of a specified type specifically for sermon and study notes that was limited to text only with file size only limited.  If so I wonder if Faithlife would consider the whole share of personal books for this restricted purpose.

Now I am sure others can see this being implemented in  different way, and maybe an even better way, just my initial reflections on how this could be achieved within the framework of what is already available / almost available [:P] in Logos 6.

While it doesn't change the essence of doc's excellent response I just wanted to clarify that Personal Books can be uploaded in their entirety now and then downloaded to other computers you have running Logos 6. It is just for your own use - they can't be shared - and they don't sync to mobile devices.
