Barclay NT Commentary: Purchased the older edition and was switched to the newer edition
About ten years ago in a purchase of the Logos Gold package of that time I received the original edition of Barclay Bible Study commentaries. For a number of years I continued with the original edition. I noticed a few years back that I now have the Revised commentary.
At times it has been stated that if you ever purchase a product that you will always be able to keep the product. I called Customer Service a few weeks back but they are not able to do anything. Is there any possibility that those of us who purchased the old edition could retain that edition?

I am guessing you are possibly mistaken. Here are both items Logos offered.

NOW if your have only the second, yes you have been replaced (this would irk many people who were forced to purchase the updated version at full cost), if you have the first you have what Logos offered up until 2005(6?) when they pulled it and the OT DSB. Barclay was revised back in the late 70s and was the only edition Logos ever sold. I still have both editions in my Logos library.

I purchased back in 2005. I would prefer to stay with the old edition over the newer edition.

I have the revised version (first one). I think what is confusing is I think that Logos changed the cover image for the older version. I thought that I had the updated version until I saw the second cover image.

I would be quite pleased in the unlikely event that this cover image change foreshadowed Faithlife re-offering the older version.

The differences between the "New Daily" and "Daily Study (Revised)" are very minor... as my example showed roman numerals have been replaced with arabic ones. Corrections have been made and unattributed quotes have been attributed. What would be a very good thing is for them to bring back Old Testament Daily Study Bible.

I remember at the time the new one came out the difference was so minor I opted not to purchase it and have no regrets. I now only own on of the new volumes, the one on Romans as it came in a collection of commentaries on Romans.
Interestingly though i noticed the volumes on Matthew of the set originally available in Logos,(I got back in Logos 2.days), have a different cover image to the one posted above, all other volumes match the above 'cover art' except these two volumes. I've shown the first volume below.

Well my Matthew original has that cover too... I am not 100% sure why it has the older style cover is on the two Matthew volumes but I personally would love to see them update it to match the rest....

PS:Not holding my breath as these are no longer offered and last time i complained about a cover nothing happened. NIC Epistles James and John has a generic cover, even though the proper cover is available I did post it back on a thread dealing with it.
