Hello, I have a question. How do you pull up sections of the bible? For example, for devotionals, you would read say Genesis 1-2, Psalm 1, Proverbs 1:1-5, Matthew 1, which would in turn just pull up those specific verses?
How do you pull up sections of the bible?
Not sure what you mean by "pulling up sections"
For example, for devotionals, you would read say Genesis 1-2, Psalm 1, Proverbs 1:1-5, Matthew 1,
If the devotionals have links to these passages then clicking on those links would open your preferred Bible to that point.
If that doesn't answer your question please provide further details.
Sorry, I know my wording was confusing. I'm wondering if it's possible to just enter these particular passages in a search box. Which would then return just the specific verses together without anything else that would come before or after each one. If that makes sense?
It makes because I know of other bible software that functions in this way but it is not possible to do this with Logos.
Aww bummer! [:(]
This can be done.
Create a new Passage List document. Add all your verses to the document. Then click the "Open all" button at the top of the Passage List panel. This will open a Bible that is filtered to only include the specified passages.

I had thought of this approach but it is not really a solution in comparison to the other software where you can filter inline for specific verses, it doesn't even have to be a contiguous range for instance you can enter Matthew 7:1-8,14;8:1-3 and only those verses will be displayed. You can even set a number of context verses you want to be displayed either side of the verses you have set. So if you say you want to see Mark 1:6-8 and have context set to 2 what is displayed is Mark 1:4-10
Using a passage list you loose access to all of the right click functions. In the other as it is an inline filter you loose no access to the right click functions.
Using the "Open all" button opens the verses from the passage list in an inline-filtered view of the Bible (similar to doing an inline search). This provides full access to visual filters, right click, etc.
Ok, that get's you there in non intuitive, convoluted process. This should be doable inline from teh bible resource panel without the intervening step of creating a passage list.to get you there.
It also seems you can't change the translation using the parallel resource list - changing the translation results in the filter being removed. To change translation, one has to go back to the passage list change the translation there and execute the Open all command again.
But you have taught me something new all the same so thank you Andrew and hopefully our exchange has teased out something that works for the OP. And what would be really great is if we could have this ability to filter inline by verses in place for Logos 7.
Actually all you have to do after changing the version is click on the visual filters icon (Triple dots) and re-check the box for the passage list in question. The filter then gets reapplied.
For -in context- verses, just have a bible pane open and click the reference in the verse list. Using the tabs would help keep the screen uncluttered.

Oh yes, thanks Roy! I completely forgot about the newer visual filter.
Awesome! Thanks Andrew and everyone else! [:D]
Cheers Roy, glad you were in the ball. However this is still a very convoluted procless, particularly when you want to do this adhoc. Having to create a temporary passage list file is very cumbersome way of getting what should be as simple as entering the verses in the passage box and choosing a filter option to display only thode verse. This option could sit as part of the bible text only options.
