AMD Radeon Video

Has anyone had any issues with Radeon cards?

I have a Dell Latitude E6440 laptop with a Radeon HD8690M card. All has been well up until a couple weeks back. No the video is going on and off in random sections of the screen (not the whole screen). Looks like what you have when a video driver crashes and segments paint as you move the mouse. Latest Dell version of the driver installed. Even tried the most up to date directly from AMD.

If I disable the driver it switches to the Intel video and no problems at all.

Now the one thing that took place about the same time (can't nail it down for sure) was subscribing to Logos Now.

Any thoughts would be much appreciate. BTW - NO issues on this computer with any other programs.

Thanks in advance, John.

So it's a Radeon driver problem, latest or not. Don't blame Logos Now.

FWIW, I have a similar issue with NVIDIA GeForce card when maximising windows, and I have LN.

FWIW I have a similar issue with Intel video and Firefox when maximising the window.

My NVIDIA Control Panel allows the selection of a graphics processor for individual programs, which means most/all 2D programs default to Integrated Graphics (Intel), including Firefox and Logos. Check what the Radeon Control Panel allows.

Not blaming. Just puzzling over what might have changed.  [:)]

Posting this just so it's on the record in case anyone else has a similar issue. In the Catalyst Control Center I changed the application dependent setting for Logos to "Power Saving" instead of "High Performance" and now there is no problem.
