Highlight, sort by resource?

In the note created by highlights, such as Highlighter Pens, I don't see a way of sorting by resource. Is there any way of doing that? Only options are title, reference, created, modified, etc. Would like to see all the notes for a resource together if possible.

If you put the Notes document into Quotes view (selectable at top-right of the document) highlights are grouped by resource

For many users, the preferable behavior is to have Logos create resource specific note documents. One advantage of using that behavior is that it helps to eliminate "large note document syndrome" (where users have difficulties syncing with mobile).

Thanks, but my goal is to move those notes from a single resource and move them to a resource specific notes file. The quotes view doesn't let you move notes like you can in full view.

Looks like sort by reference refers to Bible reference and does not refer to resource.

I may be wrong but I think that the notes were not made as "by reference". Is that correct? Compare the format of my file which has notes made by reference and sorted by reference

MJ - I'm slightly confused.

Creating a note by reference doesn't create a highlight - a highlight has to be a "note by selection"

Bruce - just to clarify here. While MJ's suggestion will allow sorting by reference it won't create highlights which I think is what you are interested in here. Highlights are, by definition, by selection.

Your screen shot shows your notes document sorted by reference (as you were trying to show). From what I can tell, the expected behavior is shown (the list is in alphabetical order based upon the articles you highlighted).

In case you weren't aware, however, the individual resources are being shown in gray, just to the right of the blue article title (The first three notes are from the NDBT. The next two notes are from the HIBD. The last four shown notes are from the NBD.)

You are correct. What I want to do however is sort by resource and not by article. The only way I see to do that is in quote view. But in quote view I cannot copy and paste to another note file such as a resource specific note file.

I guess I'm just going to have to be happy with what I have but with each new book I read to go ahead and create a resource specific note and assign a pallet to that note.

Resource specific note document, yes, but no need to create a separate palette.

Just set the palette to use resource- specific Notes documents

Sorry I'm so dense on this. This all started after watching the 30 days of Bible Study videos (which are very good). In one of the early videos it talks about creating a palette called Matt 4 (which is the passage being studied). I just assumed that for each book of the Bible or for each non biblical resource I read it would be nice to put the highlights in that book's note file. It seems to me that I would then need a new palette for each resource if I'm working my way through multiple books. If not, please tell me how it should be done. Thanks!

Ok, so I think I get what you are saying. When I'm working in a resource I set the palette to highlight to that resource's note file. Then when I'm working in another resource I change the palette to identify with the new resource note file. Is that correct?
