Problems Installing Old Software on New Laptop

Greetings,

I purchased the Logos Leader's Library software many years ago at Jeanie Mayo's Youth Conference in Atlanta, Georgia and installed it on my laptop (windows XP) . That laptop has since become obsolete and is pretty much unusable because of its age. I tried installing the CD software on my new laptop (windows 10) and it gives me the following message:

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

So my questions are:

Can this software program only be installed on one device?

Or is this CD software too obsolete for my computer?

Any help is greatly appreciated, as I really love this software and need it installed on my new laptop!

Hmm — old wine in new bottles, eh? It's probably a reflection of the fact that Logos has changed over the last couple of days (weeks, years?). It may be necessary to contact tech support on this (unless Dave Hooton has some suggestions). I'm fairly sure there is a way to do this since once you buy a Logos product, it is good, world without end.

Justin, the "Logos Leader's Library" software is most probably running the Libronix version of Logos, a version no longer supported and very difficult to installö on Windows 10 (it requires an old, insecure version of Internet Explorer etc).

Unless you're running XP in a virtual machine, it might become difficult getting it to run (yes, George is right, Grahm might know how to do that). To google the forum site for Libronix "Windows 10" may give you additional information.

However, you may use the resources you bought in Logos 6 instead. Install the most recent version of Logos, which is free: https://www.logos.com/product/46767/logos-6-core-engine

Two things may happen: If your licence has been synchronized in Libronix' days to the Logos license server, Logos 6 will automatically download all your stuff. Otherwise, go to http://www.logos.com/redeem and put in the product key that is on your CD. In case this doesn't work, call customer service to clarify the license situation of your account.

Let me add that there are about 3 or 4 Libronix resources that are not automatically downloaded in Logos 6 (Meltho Fonts User Guide etc. - nothing really substantial.)

In case you want to retain those as well, copy the content of your Libronix resources folder to a pen drive, attach the drive to the computer running Logos 6 (let's say as drive E:), and type into the command line: "Discover E:". Then wait for the files to be added to your library.
