I am running Logos 4 on Windows 7 64bit. When I start Logos, I get the small Logos logo, and then the error message. I have held down the control key, but can't seem to find the log file. Please advise.
Thanks.
The Log files should be in your My Documents folder.
Here's more detailed instructions if you haven't read them already: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging http://wiki.logos.com/Uploading_Logs
I ran the Java script to turn on logging. However, I don't see the logo files in the my documents or documents folder. My guess, since I don't even make it to the logos login screen, it is not creating a log file.
Any other suggestions? I seem to be hosed.
When you say the small Logos logo, do you mean the blue one in the taskbar? If so, what does it say when you hover your mouse over it?
No, the Logos Bible Software splash logo, after you launch the program. Once the splash logo is on the screen, it crashes.
Without Logs it's impossible to know what might be wrong. I can throw up a complete guess based on what has been going wrong the most frequently. A lot of users have been experiencing index corruption lately. If you are willing to put up with a complete re-index as a hunch, delete the contents of this folder C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\<random>\LibraryIndex (the AppData folder is hidden so you will need to enable viewing of hidden files and folders to see it). This may or may not work.
Just tried this, and does not work. bummer. Guess I will have to reinstall.
Issue Resolved: There was a problem with .NET 3.5.1. Evidently partially corrupt. I reinstalle .NET and it worked fine. COuld have been a problem with the Windows updates.

How did you know there was a problem with .NET?
I went to 'repair' the install using the windows install/repair, and when I did this, it told me there was a problem with .net. So I reinstalled .Net and it worked fine.
