I am following the 365-Day Connect the Testaments Plan to read the Bible in one year. I have  frequently  seen "[Selah]" at the end of a Bible verse. Two examples are at the ends of Psalms 4:2 and 4:4. This is in the RSVCE Bible. I don't remember whether I have seen it in New Testament verses but have seen it frequently in the Old Testament books. I haven't found any explanation of this. Can anyone tell me what "[Selah]" means? Thanks.

Often it has been explained as a pause. Pause and think about what you have just read.
