This morning I ran into what seems to be a glitch. I searched the NASB95 for "My Father". The result was 49 occurrences in 25 articles. I wanted to eliminate verses that did not have to do with Jesus' relationship to His Father and clicked on "export to verse list". I was a bit surprised that there were not more hits.
Out of curiosity, I ran a search on all versions. I started seeing hits that were not in the verse list I had obtained from the search in the NASB95. Just to check, I looked up one of these references in the NASB95 (Mat 10:33) and sure enough, it is there.
I ran the search afresh from the NASB95. This time, I did 2 things: 1) I exported to verse list again and 2) I also clicked on aligned hits in context. The former was still wrong while the latter was right.
I discovered part of the reason this is happening: I had forgotten to switch back to search verses rather than search chapters and sections in the search dialog. When I corrected this, everything fell back in order. Still, I am not really sure in the end that I understand how the "export to verse list" feature relates to results obtained through the "search chapters or section" approach. Is it a glitch? Is there a Spock out there who can provide a logical explanation?
