Master Journal 2.1 prepub

Any chance we can do this prepub on a payment plan, whether adding to one or create a new plan, anyone know?

I spoke with a Sales Rep this morning and raised the possibility. I got nowhere.
I'm not going to be buying any journals from here on out.

I was hoping someone had already addressed this with them- if no is the response, I'll be cancelling my prepub.
Thanks for the effort.

Did they flat-out say "no"?

I imagine that there will be a lot of last minute cancellations for this. Many might be saved if a payment plan option were given.

It just doesn't make sense that they wouldn't offer payment plans for pre-pubs. How does this benefit Logos? "Oh, you're getting a good deal, so we want you to pay in full..." [:^)]

Since the change in the payment plans, I have been told by multiple salesmen in Logos that they will no longer put prepubs on the payment plan. Instead you get a "good deal" on a resource before having to pay the full price. If you want a payment plan then go with the full price when released, along with the new policies (down payment, shorter payment plans).

Already cancelled- plus an additional three thousand in prepub

I think Logos will lose a lot of their sales on high dollar items.

IIRC pre-pub/community pricing were never officially available for payment plans. But the occasional exceptions that Faithlife made became common knowledge and then an expectation ... which appears to have ruined it for everyone if this thread is to be believed.

You're correct that Faithlife has never officially offered payment plans for prepubs and they have made exceptions in the past. I'm also sure that a certain number of prepub cancellations is figured into their formula to calculate when a resource moves into production.
One of the benefits of the prepub program is the option to place an order at a significantly reduced price with the option to cancel without penalty. However, because I don't know when a resource is going to ship and sometimes many ship in the same month, I have had to choose some and cancel others. So the flexibility of the prepub program, which I like, also [sometimes] creates a problem that I don't like.
There are times when I'd like to see a payment plan option added to the prepub program (for example with expensive resources), but then it would probably take resources longer to move into development - which many users wouldn't like.
So, I don't see an easy answer. Regardless of what Faithlife does, someone isn't going to be happy.
Overall, I've got no complaints. I've made out pretty good with the prepub program and will probably continue to do so.

I spoke to a SR just yesterday.
The answer was a very long no as in NOOOOOO! Perhaps to make sure I never asked again.
Further, he said, You want a payment plan, then wait till the journal bundle goes life, and buy it at full price on a payment plan.

First of all, I will say that I was the beneficiary of a salesman who would work around the system to get my pre-pubs on my payment plan, but all of that stopped when they changed the system, and I will note that my salesman no longer works for Faithlife, even though he was very popular and had worked there many years. I never expected that I was owed this service, and I knew that the general rule was that pre-pubs could not be added to a payment plan, but my salesman had a way to make it work. Faithlife is already offering huge discounts for pre-pubs, and they have to be able to make money on them as soon as possible to keep things running.
With all of that said, I wonder if they couldn't do an abbreviated payment plan for pre-pubs, such as 2-3 months. That would probably work for many customers, and Faithlife wouldn't be dragging their income out too far. Of course, if I've learned anything, it's that once you give some people an inch, they will want a mile. People will then start complaining that if they can stretch it out to 3 months, why can't they stretch it out longer? This is why I don't run a business.

Well, although I don't fully understand it, the answer is clear.
