Taking help (and user-friendliness) to the next level

We have made great strides in documentation, videos, the help file and so on since Logos 6 came out. But still, this morning, I found myself not having success doing a tag search. Now I can find the information if I look for it for a while, but a quick attempt to use suggestions or search the help file did not produce immediate results and I did not have time for more.

So here comes the idea that has me dreaming and I think would really, really, help Logos a great deal:

Implement a help assistant as in the Microsoft Office 365.

For those who are not familiar with it, you have this box on the menu bar that says "Tell me what you want me to do". Say you wanted to insert a picture in a document, you type "insert" and immediately it proposes a list of matching features (like insert picture) as well as recent searches. Then you click on the feature name and it takes you there (it actually does it, not just take you to the help file). For illustration purposes, I have included a link that explains how the Microsoft feature works: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Do-things-quickly-with-Tell-Me-f20d2198-17b8-4b09-a3e5-007a337f1e4e?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US&fromAR=1

So in Logos imagine typing "tag" and having a drop down with "insert note tag" "add community tag" "search my tags". Let's say you click on the last one and it opens search with the proper prefix (or alternatively, if it is not practical to have it perform the actual function, at least open the help file at exactly the right location).

Seriously, I catch myself dreaming about this. It would be fantastic!

I have posted on uservoice and here is the link if you would like to vote for it: https://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-6/suggestions/14889942-help-me-tell-me-style

Still hoping this could happen someday, pretty much every time I open the help file but then have to search it as a resource in order to find what I am looking for. How much nicer it would be to have a (fuller) list of suggestions in the help box. Right now it only does headwords, but it would be more useful if it could do all commands and functions.

For example, when I type "Milestone" it only proposes "Milestones" and if I select it takes me to the corresponding entry in the Glossary. However, perhaps what I wanted what to learn how to search milestones. So what I would like is that "Milestones searches" appear also as one of the suggestions in the box.

I think they'll have to persue your dream, no matter your dream.

It's the only way they can climb out of their UI mess, and simultaneously maintain their really-cool software requirement. Their current cookbook idea is  creating a strange aroma of non-coolness-ivity.

I like your idea.  Why basic functionality to me is missing from the get go when you first turn on the software - escapes me!!!
