Clippings and Notes

When I highlight my passage to add a clipping or note, The right click option only gives me the option of adding a note or a clipping to the last saved clipping or note 

There is no option to add a new clipping or note 

How do I set this to either let me choose a clipping or to add a clipping

This is by default. Since the contextual menu is limited, all the options can't be made available, so only open clippings or notes docs will show (two of them, IIRC), or if none or only one is open, the last one that was closed will show.

New clippings docs or notes docs must be created from the menu. Once they are created, you can open them in a small tab and they can then be available on the contextual menu.
