I would like to highlight some text in a book, press a keyboard shortcut for notes, and then go straight to the notes for that book. Is there a keyboard shortcut for making a note?

Thanks.

If you are asking whether there is a  way of setting up a keyboard shortcut to make a highlight (which I think you are but you might be asking something else) you can do this.

It is outlined in a training video at https://www.logos.com/training/logos6/highlights-intro (about 2:28 into the video) or at https://wiki.logos.com/Highlighting#Shortcut_keys

    Does this help?

As far as I know, highlighting and notes are not the same thing. When I add a note to a highlight, I don't see that yellow sticky note that tells me I left a note there. I want a keyboard shortcut for the note feature rather than the highlight feature. Thanks for getting back to me.

Technically, a highlight is a particular type of note. A highlight is stored in a Notes Document (in the same way as notes are).

When you create a note you have the option to create it "by selection" which links it to a particular piece of text or "by reference" which links it to a particular biblical passage (you choose which you want based on which option you select at the top-right of the right-click context menu).

A highlight is a "note by selection" without any additional text added

When I add a note to a highlight, I don't see that yellow sticky note that tells me I left a note there

That is because the highlight is a "note by selection" and adding some text to it does not change that. You get the "sticky note" for "notes by reference"

I want a keyboard shortcut for the note feature rather than the highlight feature.

To the best of my knowledge there isn't any such shortcut - sorry.

    This blog post might help:

I have been struggling with some of the same issues you are and started a thread in the Logos 6 forum:

But in the end it seems that cut and paste are the best we are going to get.
