TIP of the millennium (three finger touch to preview threads quickly)

TIP of the millennium? Well for me anyway.

For years now I have worked my way through he posts on the forum opening threads and then flicking back to the main menu - most times waiting for the page to refresh.

Today I accidentally did a 'three finger touch' on my trackpad and up posed the thread in preview mode. Slightly smaller text than normal but sufficient to take in the extra information and let me know if I wish to respond.

The big saving is on the time to reload the page...

Great Tip, Mike! I didn't know that either, and I'll make use of it.

Just to clarify, however—this is for Safari on the Mac (and perhaps Safari on Windows).

Chrome just brings up the definition window, which is what the three-finger tap does in most cases on the Mac. But Safari recognizes that you are tapping on a link and not a word, so it gives you a web page preview instead.

On Windows you can also Ctrl-Click or if you are using a mouse use the wheel to click. This will open the thread in a new tab. There is probably a similar way on Mac.
