Question About PDF Export on Windows

I've moved to a Dell Workstation running Windows 10 Pro as my main day-to-day machine (BTW, Logos runs BEAUTIFULLY on it! 8 Core Xeon Processor, 64 GB RAM, 2TB flash storage, and most of my searches are instant, with the few that still take time way faster than any other machine I've ever used).

However, I have a quick question about PDF exporting. When I went to export out a Sentence Diagram tonight, the only option Logos gave me was for XPS documents, not PDF documents. I do have the PDF printer from Microsoft (and from Adobe since I have Acrobat Pro) installed, so I was able to export out the PDF this way.

My question is, is this the normal way to export PDF's from Logos for Windows or should there be a built in PDF export option in the window? I'm attaching a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

What you're seeing is correct. Logos on Mac has built-in export to PDF, Logos on Windows has built-in export to XPS (Microsoft's 'version' of PDF). I think that's to do with the differences between Mono and WPF.

I don't think I fully follow, but for clarification: Mac has "print to PDF" built into the OS, so I assume this is simply a matter FL utilizing a built in feature of the OS. I would assume it is the same with windows & XPS.

Windows 10 includes a PDF viewer; personally like Sumatra PDF Reader => http://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/free-pdf-reader.html

OS X includes print to PDF functionality (but not Microsoft's XPS) along with Preview application, which can annotate/edit PDF's.

The OS X App Store has several XPS Reader applications available for purchase.

Thanks for the info. I played around with XPS on a Vista machine a while back but never really used it since I don't know anyone who really uses it. I chose to stick with PDF. :-)

My Windows workstation didn't come with the built-in PDF viewer, but I have Adobe DC Pro, so I'm more than set (I can do practically any fancy PDF stuff I want to now). Had no idea I was getting it but went for Adobe CC student for Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, and Lightroom, and Adobe Pro was included in the package. That was fun. :-)
