Dear all,

I was considering to get the Master Journal 2.1 and I was surprised that I didn´t get any credit for my old TJL 1-5 I bought quite a lot years ago. Then I realized that for some reason they were not in my HDD. I forced to discover resources from an external HDD and some of them were added to my Logos 6 installation:

Bibliotheca Sacra bibsac.lbxlls 2006-03-23T21:13:59Z

And the rest were not discovered:

Grace Journal

Grace Theological Journal

Journal of Christian Apologetics

Chafer Theological Seminary Journal

Conservative Theological Journal

Journal of the Grace Evangelical Society

Journal of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood

I contacted several times Logos support and the only solution I received after few weeks is to provide them with the serial code in the CD to unlock these resources. I told them that these resources are already unlock in my account (I also sent them a backup of my Libronix license) but in this very old format (I think they are in the Logos 2.x format). Anyway, I couldn´t find the original CD, which I suppose I don´t need because the resources are already unlocked in my account.

At this moment I´m facing two problems (apart of not getting any credit for my purchase): 1. When adding them by discover resources command, Logos is keeping reindexing at every start (probably because they never were update to a new version). 2. No information in the Journal section in PG.

Currently I´m running Logos 6.12 SR-2 compilation 6.12.0.0038.

As Logos support was not able to help, could somebody from Faithlife have a look at this issue, please?

Thanks in advance,

This is a very old version of TLJ, and is quite different from later versions. (The early versions had the journals in one resource, later versions had them in separate resources.) The upgrade calculator seems to be working for the later versions, but not this early version.

I will ask a Logos/Faithlife person to respond by saying whether this is policy or oversight.

This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

This is the reason why I still have my old CDs and old Libronix license.   I hope this was an oversight, because you did purchase the resources (your order history should show this)

I'm not sure how Faithlife keeps track of what resources I own. I hope it isn't based on order history though. I bought several L2 and L3 boxed resources from third party sources back in ~2007 or 2008. These don't show up on my order history obviously and I no longer have the boxes (CDs or codes). This does worry me. Also, I purchased the WBC set in 2009 from Logos directly and this is not in my order history because the rep had to do something "special" to get me a discounted price. [:S]

Well, I know these are quite old resources and, yes, every journal it´s in only one file.

I moved several times across several countries and that´s why I don´t have the original CD. I was still using Libronix because my computer was quite old running Windows XP. Few months ago I bought a new laptop and Logos 6 is far superior to Libronix (in my opinion), that´s why I didn´t realised it until now..

I have a backup licenses in 2 computers, 3 external HD and 3 online services. Furthermore, I synchronised my licenes in Libronix, so they are in Logos servers. Anyway, I sent them to Logos support to prove that I owned these resources. I really think nobody should care about old Logos resources bought ouiside Logos, like this case, if licenses are synchronised and you have several backups of them. What is quite annoying is the continous reindexing every time I start Logos.

And the rest were not discovered:

    Grace Journal

    Grace Theological Journal

    Journal of Christian Apologetics

    Chafer Theological Seminary Journal

    Conservative Theological Journal

Journal of the Grace Evangelical Society

Journal of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood

Do these still not show up in Logos 6 (but were in your library in Libronix)? If so, it could be because licenses weren't correctly synchronised to Logos. To make sure we're talking about the same resources, can you open Help > About This Resource in Libronix DLS and copy the "Resource Location" information?

At this moment I´m facing two problems (apart of not getting any credit for my purchase)

This could well be due to the licensing system not knowing about your ownership of those resources.

    1. When adding them by discover resources command, Logos is keeping reindexing at every start (probably because they never were update to a new version)

We would need to see a recent set of log files to diagnose this issue.

    2. No information in the Journal section in PG.

These specific journal resources may not have been updated with the Journal tagging. See this recent discussion of a similar problem: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/126888/825572.aspx#825572

    Hi Bradley,

Thank you for answering this post. Support contacted me by e-mail and I resent tthem he license backup. Libronix was installed in my  old desktop running Windows XP. It crashed and I´m considering if it´s worthy of spending money to repair it, so I´m not able to provide the resources ID as it´s not installed in my laptop with Windows 10.

I also hide these resources in Logos 6 to avoid the reindexing issue. I will wait for support answer and if they don´t solve anything I will discover them again and I will pprovide you with the logs.

I will keep you posted. Thanks again for your interest.

    Dear all,

Finally Support pushed the new files to my account and I could download them. However, I still have the problem with indexing... For some reason the process always stops around 8%.

Could some of you have a look and advise me waht to do?

    Thanks very much in advance,

The indexer is probably crashing. To diagnose and fix this problem, we may need an indexer crash dump from your machine, or even the specific resource files that are causing the problem. Tech Support can help collect these.
