How to fix interrupted downloading?

Hi,

I hope someone can guide me on this one. Logos was downloading a big resource (A bundle, 2.6 GB) and then my internet connection was interrupted. Since then Logos kept crashing. Customer Support through TeamViewer correctly fixed the problem, so Logos was able to start again downloading the resource. Sadly a few hours later my internet dropped again (I am in China), so Logos crashed again and I can't start it anymore. If anyone here knows how to fix this type of problem I am sure I can follow your directions and will try to download my resource again.

Thanks,

Gabe.

    Try renaming c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Logos\Data\random\UpdateManager\Updates.db

    and

    rename c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Logos\Data\random\DownloadManager\DownloadManager.db

Then try starting Logos. If successful, then you should receive a pending download notification.

If your Internet connection is currently unreliable, you may want to start logos offline, after renaming those files, by holding the Ctrl key while double clicking the Logos icon and select to start offline at the sign-in dialogue box. Then in Tools>Program Settings set automatic downloads to No. Restart Logos normally.

Changing this setting to no will not prevent you from receiving notification that updates are available, but it will enable to choose a time when a reliable connection is available.

Many thanks Fredc, you are right on target. I appreciate your help.

Customer support sent me the following procedure and it worked quite well. I am reproducing it here, maybe it will be useful for others:

1- Make sure Logos is completely closed (open Task Manager and ‘End process” for all Logos processes running)

2- Right click on the Logos icon that’s on your desktop and choose Open File Location

3- Open the folder called Data

    4-Open the alpha-numeric folder

5- Delete the Updates, UpdateManager folder

    6-Now open the ResourceManager folder

    7-Delete the ResourceManager.db file

8-Press and hold the CTRL key while you open Logos DO NOT let go of the CTRL key until you see the Sign-in window and sign-in OFFLINE*

*This step is very important because if Logos opens online (using the internet) then it will want to download your ENTIRE library again.

If you are not comfortable doing as instructed it may be best just to take computer offline for this step.

9- let the program completely open and run for a couple minutes (about 30min)

During this step click the library icon if you see a message indicating your library is being updated at all keep the program open.

You may also see a blue circle with a number 1,2 or 3 in the middle at the top right corner of the program next to layouts- if the circle is present the program is still updating.

If no messages is present then go to next step.

10- if you manually turned off the internet for step 8, reconnect it at this point

Close the Logos program and reopen it online (using the internet)

11- program should open correctly and not crash.

    Blessings,

    Gabe.
