THE NEW UNGER'S BIBLE DICTIONARY-No photos and no maps!

I have just purchased this resource, which I have been waiting on for quite some time, and am very disappointed that the photos and maps are missing. There are more than 300 photographs, and almost half of them in color in this resource. There is also a 16-page insert featuring award-winning maps from The Moody Atlas of Bible Lands.

Can someone please explain to me why these important photos and maps are missing from this resource, because I am about to call FAITHLIFE and ask for a refund.

I find this to be extremely disappointing.

According to the product description page, "Due to copyright constraints this edition does not include photographs."

I know that with some newer resources, FL has done a better job of making this clear (i.e. by putting a text box warning on the page).

Very disappointed, and I mean very disappointed; especially with the color photographs not being in it. I was so looking forward to this coming back in to LOGOS, but assumed that it would be just like the Hardback-Copy that I have.

Am sure,, FAITHLIFE can negotiate with the copyright constraints.

Again very disappointed. Cannot say it enough, very disappointed. This is not what I expected.

I will ask for a refund on this , and stick with my Hardback-Copy, that has all of the color photos and maps in it.

Am very sure though FAITHLIFE/LOGOS can do something to get them in there if they want to!

THE NEW UNGER'S BIBLE DICTIONARY is one of the best Bible Dictionary's and without the photos and maps in it, it is extremely disappointing and lacking. The photos and maps bring the dictionary alive.

It is deplorable. Kindle edition has bw pics and color maps for $16.99!

The only thing else I can add is that this isn't a new resource. Things change. It may be that FL can negotiate now what they couldn't then.

At least in regard to photographs, you are dealing with rights normally not readily negotiable between publisher and FL. The publisher invariably buys rights to photographs for print. They may not have permission for FL. What was negotiated in the past doesn't always move forward. Print rights aren't the same as digital rights and FL doesn't have the deep pockets that Amazon has.

I've had this resource for many years. Photographs have never been a part of the licensing arrangement. At the time I purchased it, having them not included was a disappointment but I was aware of that fact and made the choice to go with the resource anyway. The information that they are not included is included in the first paragraph describing the resource but I would like Logos to make this sort of information standout more - it is an important detail when a customer is making a purchasing decisions, At the very least this sort of information should be put in bold lettering but preferably this sort of information regarding the limitations of a resource should listed as a bullet point under the Product Details section so that it is listed in a standard place for customer to go and check before they make a purchasing decision.

It would be great to have the photographs included but at the moment I am thankful that we have Moody resources starting to reappear in the Logos catalogue.

This is one of the best Bible Dictionaries there is, and depending upon the outcome, will determine whether I get a refund on this resource and go with Kindle Direct or not - at least their version as the photos and maps in it.

This is one reason now why I do not buy resources from LOGOS like I used to - a lot of them are not complete with photos and maps. At best you could include the photos.

I realize that this is an old resource, but FAITHLIFE needs to update this very badly, and at least include the photos.

They have responded... but we are awaiting further clarification.

This has nothing to do with Amazon's "deep pockets." Like I said before, this resource is OLD. I have no idea how long its been in Logos, but very likely before there was an ebook version from the publisher. The kindle version has to be MUCH newer. The point being the "world of eBooks" was much different back then. Hopefully this will get slated for an update in the near future.

That is all I am waiting on - further clarification as to whether this will be slated for an update or not.

I know that the Kindle version is much newer, and that is the one that LOGOS should have. I do realize that this resource as just come back to LOGOS, so it will take some time to update it.

All I want is clarification that it will be updated; if not I will get the refund and go with Kindle Direct. Also Accordance version as all the photos and maps as well.

I would like to thank everyone for their input, comments, and advice about THE NEW UNGER'S BIBLE DICTIONARY. I am very appreciative and grateful.

Therefore, I have decided to keep it and not ask for a refund, since it is one of my favorite biblical dictionaries; and I would rather have it in LOGOS than anywhere else. I am confident that LOGOS will eventually get the new update on this.
