Links in notes

It is a strange thing that some of the references I insert into some of my notes are linked and others are not.  Some automatically form links to the scripture reference, others don't.  Why is this and how do I correct it so that all scripture references are linked to references in the Bible?

Can you give some examples of ones that don't link and ones that do?

Here's one that did not link:

Jesus said in John 9:5 that he was "the light of the world."    (The forum software linked it here, but it did not link in the note.)

    Here's one that did:

of the world instead (See John 3:19).

This happens to me if I have edited the reference. To fix it on a Windows PC:

    1. Highlight the reference.
    2. Press [Ctrl+C] [Ctrl-K] [Ctrl+V] [Enter]

    What this does is:

    1. Copy the reference to your clipboard.
    2. Open a hyperlink field.
    3. Paste the reference into the field.
    4. Enter it.

If you are using a different platform, your procedure might vary.

Thanks, Jack.  I'll give that a try.  That's a good fix, but I'm still wondering why it does that in the first place.  Am I doing something wrong or is it a glitch in the software.  I'd like to know so I can get it working right and don't have to keep going back to fix all my notes.
