I find it very helpful to click on the Strong's or Louw-Nida numbers in the Interlinear window of the bible to link to the word definitions. I'm curious if there's a way to put BDAG down there?
No, but if you prioritize BDAG you can get to it pretty quickly by right clicking on the word, selecting Lemma and then picking it from the list that populates on the left.
You can do it a different way. If you have BDAG and your Strong's Dictionary open, and both set to the same linkset (use the dropdown menu on the cover icon), then clicking on the Strong's Number will open your Strong's to the right entry, but also force BDAG to the right entry as well. If you want, you can make your Strong's windows very small to keep it out the way (see screenshot).
Once the Beta is released, you will be able to do this with the information window, sort of. I find myself using it more than the interlinear now. I just click the word in the text and it automatically displays according to my preferences in the information window.
Has anyone heard any new news regarding this issue yet? I believe that adding BDAG into the interlinear windows is something most people would prefer. I wouldn't think that it would be too difficult to do.
Thanks
If you are reading BDAG, why not just start of with a Greek Text (or Greek Interlinear) and just double clicking the word? Then in another window you will see the selected word in BDAG.
It would be nice to have it all in one place. Louw and Nida for Symantics and BDAG for Theology
Actually it would be a gargantuan task since it would have to be coded word by word.
it would be a gargantuan task
If not a Sisyphos task! [;)]
I'm not familiar with Logos' database structure(s) at all, but I would think that much of that work is already done since it is already searchable and indexable... I would think (which is always dangerous ) that they would just then feed it into whatever mechanism that runs their interlinears ....but then again, I don't know enough about the inner workings of Logos' database(s) to say... Either way it would be a fearure that I would definitely appreciate.
I spent quite a bit of time looking for how to do this until I found this post saying that it wasn't an option. I agree that others would like to have BDAG as an option in the interlinear pane.
