Cross reference LEB with Lexham Bible Dictionary

Began the 30 day challenge and on the second day in the video it shows double clicking the word tempter in Matthew 4:3 of the Lexham English Bible and in turn that brings up a reference in the Lexham Bible Dictionary which is also open next to it. Trying to do this but every time I double click the word it brings up the power lookup and does not bring anything up in the Lexham Bible Dictionary. Any help with this is appreciated. Thanks!!

Double-clicking the word should result in it being looked up in a dictionary - and the dictionary used will depend on something known as prioritisation. Have you done any work on prioritising your library as yet? (If you don't understand what that means then you probably haven't!)

If the Power Lookup Tool is open it will be updated as a result of doing this but a dictionary should still be opened. - assuming you have any.

Do you have the Lexham Bible Dictionary installed? To check this enter the command "open lbd" in the command box at the top of the Logos window

Here is a screenshot that you requested. Like I said, it pulls up the power lookup but does nothing on the Dictionary. And I do have it prioritized as well so I don't think that is the issue.

Decided to try to dig a little deeper on this, if I double click on a word that is found in the dictionary, it will go to that entry in the dictionary. But for some reason, it doesn't reference a word that is different, ie double clicking tempter did not bring up Satan in the dictionary as it did in the video study. Not sure what the difference is, maybe this will help in clarifying what the issue might be.

If indeed the LBD is your highest prioritized bible dictionary, the behavior shown in the video is what you will encounter. I opened the LEB to Mt 4.3 and double-clicked on "tempter" and it repeatedly jumped to the head word "Satan." A screenshot of your prioritized resources may reveal what is causing you to see something different.

The way these types of lookups work is using something known as the Logos Controlled Vocabulary (LCV). I wonder if your version of this is out of date or if you have an old version of the LBD.

Please enter the command "update resources" in the command bar which should check and update if required.

I will make sure everything is updated later today when I get off work. I will also send a screenshot of my prioritized books to make sure that is all correct as well. Thanks for your help on this-hoping we can get this solved!!

I ran an update command and it didn't do anything. Everything was up to date. I have attached a picture of the prioritized screen. Maybe this will help. I think it is what it should be though.

Your prioritization list couldn't be simpler, it is not the problem. Are you sure you ran the correct update command? There are two, update now and update resources. If you type only the word update it defaults to update now. In order for you to execute the update resources command you must type update resources.

From your Library screenshot it looks as though you haven't bought either a base package or a Crossgrade.

Is that correct?

If so, I think this is the cause for what you are seeing as you won't have access to the LCV

That makes sense then. I am just using the free resources at this time and have not purchased a base package. I need to take a look and see what packages are available and what features each has. I assume there are other features as well that won't be available in the free version that are beneficial for study? I know there are more resources available but didn't know there were more features as well. Thanks for all of your help on this!!

Yes, the free engine provides access to resources and some functionality - the purchase of base packages provides access to more resource and features while purchase of crossgrades is more focused on access to features.
