I'm getting ready to start having daily TIP of the day's again ... with the added feature of slowly incorporating their information into the wiki. To do this I went through the entire TOC of the help document and was both encouraged and discouraged. I thought back to the early days of Logos 6 and the concerted effort on documentation and training that followed. I thought about items that we were told would be expanded ... and hints here and there of features that were hinted at. The result is this list of what I am still waiting for ...
- fuzzy search (yup, been waiting since the release of L4)
- reorganizing of Liturgy section of Passage Guide to be organized along theological tradition lines
- adding of a hymn feature (I keep hearing and hearing but never seeing)
- addition of deuterocanonical events to Bible Event Browser
- more visibility as to what books are used for what sections of the Guides ... and which are not
- being able to label outlines and have them appear in the Passage Guide Outline section (I mean it works for Sermons)
- completion of Guide sections documentation in Help (nearly 40 don't appear in TOC)
- completion of Interactives documentation in Help (11 don't appear in TOC)
- more expansion in certain interactives: Before and After; Narrative Character Maps; Bible People Visual Timelines ... they have potential if the right people and places are available but ...
- modifying the Counting of the Ten Commandments to recognize Deuteronomy as well as Exodus (yes, I am obsessed about this)
- making it possible to enter a comment in the answer section of a Prayer List without it closing the request (okay I'm obsessed about this as well).
- more obvious progress in the linking resources to rabbinic and patristic materials (after the Ancient Literature section perhaps my hopes were raised too high)
- interactives for Biblical Theology and Confessional Documents paralleling the one for Systematic Theology (okay this was a very recent addition to my expectation list)
- link to Text This Week ... after all there are several sermon sites and external manuscript links, even Wikipedia ... why can't this one basic RCL based site be added (I mean who can resist supporting a Mother with an adult autistic child?)
- more obvious progress in adding Logos authors to Factbook
Note this is not a list of what I dreamed for ... things like reworking of the prioritization system, a replacement for the old Bible study lesson builder where we in effect actually lost resources ... but of things that there was real reason to hope for.
What are you still waiting for?
