It seems that almost everything I try to do in Logos A14 for mac ends up with a force quit because the rainbow goes into perpetual motion. Buggy...really Buggy. And it is really bugging me...
Im having the same problem. A14 is extremely slow almost unworkable...the stinky part is i just upgraded my RAM in hopes to get a more fluent usage of the LOGOS4 program ( I kinda needed to because i started to use the windows version on paralles5 but L4 MAC A14 still seems like its dragging)
Hey guys - I want to weigh in on this with a personal observation. I posted some time ago that I strongly believe that some of the bugs and quirky behaviors that are being reported are due (at least in some cases) to the individual MAC (model, age, processor), personal customization, and 3rd party software installed etc (namely freeware downloaded from the Internet). The reason I'm saying this is - I have a fairly new MacBook Pro - almost pristine installation - not many customizations or 3rd party software installed. Aside from an occasional crash that has already been documented and known to the developers - my installation is reasonably stable. I use it everyday - with seldom crashes. Now one other variable that might come into play. I have the Leader's Library - which only has 400+ resources - what I don't know is - if those problems that are occurring more frequently are happening on implementations with much more resources??? I only want to say - that perhaps (big perhaps) - some of the problems have at least something to do with the way people have customized their MAC. At least there seems to be some indication that it could be a consideration.
Respectfully submitted,
-Mike
Ron, if you would like to work through some specifics of what is crashing, then you need to post the details of what steps you took to elicit the crash and then post your logs. The link to bug reporting is in my signature between the two lightbulbs.
John, speed optimization will not begin until we reach beta. On the Windows side, speed saw massive improvement during the 6 week beta process... so it will come.
Blessings
Hi Mike, what you are saying is possible and it is why bug reporting from users is so important. It helps the developers find possible conflicts that they would not have on their test systems.
Keep those reports coming everyone! :-)
To my knowledge, I haven't installed any 3rd part software lately but that is a possiblity i suppose. A14 was working fairly well. I still would crash but now it seems unusable. Whenever I open up the program and click directly on the search icon for a particular scripture, the rainbow wheel comes out and I want to take a ride!
Any ideas would be helpful. I will check out the bug reporting and send in a report
Ron,
Do you use Logos 4 on a Windows Machine? If this is the case, it sounds as if some synced preferences may be causing problems. Again, if you have used the Windows program, you might want to check and see what your default search mode is. If the default is not yet implemented on the Mac, this could be causing your search problelms.
Hope This Helps
