Adding books

Seems to be the only way I can ask a question without sitting on hold for all eternity.

I found a few books that I want to add to my logos that I have to buy. My question is can I use those books outside of logos or are they only for use within the logos package? Reason I ask is because I found the same books on Amazon and I can use those anywhere.

Hi Donna - and welcome to the forums

Books you buy from Logos can only be used in Logos apps - in a similar way to Kindle books only working on a Kindle apps.

Or are you comparing with paper books?

To build upon what Graham said, Logos books can be read via PC, Mac, IOS App, and Android App. This is the same way that Kindle works.

I don't know if I follow your questions or not. It might help if you are more explicit. For clarification: within Logos terminology, a "package" is simply a collection (or bundle) of books and datasets that you purchase together as a single unit (for sales purposes). A "package" isn't something you "use books in", rather, a "package" is the collection of books themselves. If you are buying individual books, they aren't being added to your "package" but to your "library." By "use within the logos package" did you mean "use within the Logos library"? As Graham answered, yes, books purchased can only be used within the Logos suite of apps (Windows, Mac, Android, iOS). Does that answer your question? If you are more explicit, we might understand better.

Just to add to the confusion...

The thing about 'Logos' books is

the tagging which makes them pop up when referred to in other books (mostly).

The tagging which links them to special searches and research tools.

While, if you just want to read them you can only do this within the Logo's environment, and that won't matter much unless you are a dedicated Kindle reader and nothing else will do - you can (within the bounds of copyright law) copy, paste, note and quote to your hearts content in other applications.
