Free Thomas Nelson Sampler bundle

In the past, Nelson used to provide a Sampler with a bunch of free resources:

I've managed to transfer the licenses of that bundle to a newly created Logos account, and added the instructions to the wiki:

Effort for the procedure is about 30 to 60 minutes, and yields a reward of some nice resources, especially for those who don't own a base package.

Once the licenses are synced with your account, I don't see why not.

The initial process, however, requires Windows in any case, since L3 and L4 are not available for Mac OS.

I don't fully understand "the process," but a very old (windows only) app was required. You would have to have that running somehow.

The vmc runs on Hyper-v, which is part of Windows 10. There's a good tutorial at tenforums.

I found an old XP computer. There was no option to sign in for logos 3. Only something about entering a code. I proceeded anyway but now logos 4 won't download. Thoughts?

Oh, now it's time for me to bang my head against the wall....

I did try the license transfer on Win XP, but it failed, and then managed to do that on Win Vista. [:$]

Here's a screenshot of the Vista VMC with L3 and L4 running in parallel, together with the libraries, as a proof that the license transfer did work.

I'll write a blog post with at least a dozen screenshots soon. It's getting too complex even for me now to remember details about every single step...

Yeah I'm completely lost on how to do this and will be giving up at this point. I'm not able to install 3 on my one computer but I was able to install it on an old xp laptop. But then I couldn't install 4 on that laptop so I copied the whole directory to a thumb drive and moved it to the other computer but when I installed 4 it did not "install on top of" 3 like the directions said to and when I started it up it refused to recognize it. All I wanted out of this was Smith's dictionary too but at this point I've wasted more time than it is worth to buy... I wish I could figure it out but my computer skills have diminished over time for this type of thing. I hope someone figures it out and can give me better instructions but if not thank you for trying to help me. I appreciate it

Don't delete L3 from that XP machine yet. I still have a couple of ideas that I'm testing out. I hope to be coming up with a blog post with very detailled instructions within a week or two.

FYI: Libronix 3 product key can be redeemed (associated) with your Faithlife account for use in Logos, Verbum, and Noet (albeit some resources may not be available for mobile device use).

I was able to get it all to work using the Windows 7 Virtual Machine that can be downloaded at http://www.modern.ie. I used the download IE8 on Windows 7 for VirtualBox. Once in the virtual Windows 7, I ran the "Troubleshoot Compatibilty" wizard on the Libronix 3 download to get it to install, and then I ran the wizard on each of the installed executables that I could find. Afterward, I had to restart virtual Windows before Libronix 3 would load.

I installed Logos 4, but I'm not sure if it was "on top" of Logos 3 or not. I was still able to use Libronix 3 after Logos 4 was installed (I cancelled the Logos 4 resources download). Anyway, I activated Libronix 3 using the email method, which gave me a confirmation key, and then it wanted to sync licenses. I expected to get an error at this point, but it acted like it worked! I then loaded up Verbum on my "real" computer, and it installed the new resources!

So, I'm not sure if it was (partially) installing Logos 4 that worked, or if it actually synchronized my licenses from Libronix 3, but either way it worked...

On a side note, I couldn't get the XP machine to register via email for what I'm guessing is the same reason it wouldn't download 4

It has been a while, but I passed on my sampler edition of WBC to my pastor some years ago. (I had a "full" edition of 50 odd volumes that I had purchased since with no dynamic pricing or anything...) This was an old Logos 2.0 product, so it was a bit more involved... But the way we got it to work was:

1) He installed Libronix 3 on a VM on his Mac... Got this Libronix setup synchronized with the Logos servers....

2) We installed the WBC Logos 2.0.

3) Start up Libronix. Libronix pulled the Logos 2.0 license file from that computer - adding the WBC volumes.

4) Synchronize Licenses in Libronix 3

5) Bingo! WBC dl'ed into his Logos 5 (I think it was) setup.

I think I heard that Logos no longer supported steps 1 & 4, but I hope I am wrong.

I figured out my issue. I had to hardwire into internet and not use wifi. Everything synced but nothing is showing in my phone yet. Will these show on mobile?

Hi James, I'm no tech guy but I followed Jan and Russell's advice. Russell had a good link to a Win 7 image. Download Virtual Box and install. Run the image you grab from Russell's post and then do a few clicks and your computer should be running a computer inside itself (virtual machine [VM]). Once you are in that VM come back to this post and download everything to that machine and just work through the steps. My biggest issue was that I tried to do it over wifi but once I connected with an ethernet cable it worked fine. Maybe that was the issue or maybe 3x is a charm.

Essentially download Libronix 3 setup and then the update file that goes with it. Once installed, run the Nelson library file setup found in Jan's link. (Follow the instructions on how to add the 6 books). **At this point install logos 4 I don't think it is needed but hey you never know. Sign in to Logos 4 but cancel the resource download and close it** Now run logos 3 and it will ask you to setup an account. I don't remember the options exactly but it was something like existing user and email me my codes. Do that. In your email don't run the update file that comes with it but instead go back to account management and there is an option to type in your customer id and passcode which will be in the email. It will sync your account automatically unless you tell it not to. Wait 1-5 minutes and then they should show in your account

On the initial download page for L3, there is a reinstall choice. That leads to a download for a reinstaller. I used that reinstaller, then followed the Thomas Nelson instructions again to get the license to "take".

I did not need to install Logos 4. If you go to Tools|Library Management|License Management (not sure about that third one) in Libronix, you can Synchronize your licenses successfully. From there, you can open Logos in your main system and download the licensed resources.

Ah, so that's the rub. I have been getting this same message--"not connected to internet". Good to know what the hang is...but my problem persists. My ethernet port was fried by a lightning strike. That REALLY irritates me. I have hundreds of things I want to add to my L3 library but won't be able to. I wonder if my new computer has an ethernet port? I'm going to set up a virtual machine on it. Hope it works.

Well I finally managed to get round the no internet connection problem by using a windows 7 VM (I am using parallels), Was able to activate and synchronise the licenses, however I cannot find the books in my account. I used the same email as i login to Logos but they are nowhere to be seen.

Libronix uses a different account manager than the Logos product ... you need to call customer service.
