Lack of page numbers

I have been using Logos for at least 6 years now and one of the biggest problems for me is the absence of page number on numerous resources. This was a problem with the old version but it has been progressively worse. I am a seminary student writing formal graduate level papers and cannot use resources without citing the page number. What this boils down to is the books that are in my library that do not have page numbers are useless for my purposes. Is there any way to correct this?

We've been assured on more than one occasion that this was being corrected. However, I share your frustration as I still regularly cite my studies, even sermons with a consistent Turabian format (well I'm not as strict as some of my profs were...).

Check your visual filter (Venn Diagram button) to see if the page numbers are in fact included, IIRC sometimes they don't copy over in the automated foot notes.

If they're not included all I can do is suggest you start posting resource by resource which ones are lacking and asking for them to be upgraded.

I'm telling you some of the profs I've had were really picky, and I probably wouldn't as concerned but the prof right now is the worst. Thanks for your help and understanding, I hope I didn't sound to upset by my original post.

Yeah, I've found some that wouldn't copy over and had to add them manually, not a problem, I already checked my filter for page numbers. How do I go about reporting the resource and requesting an update. Thanks

I hope you're prof isn't reading this! You might try googling a quote and seeing if it comes up in Google books or on Amazon and then you will know which page it's on.

I have been a user for 14 going back to my seminary days and through my doctoral dissertation, lack of page numbers in the older resources is a problem and one of the reasons Logos has moved publications in house so we get a more usable product.

I am a seminary student writing formal graduate level papers and cannot use resources without citing the page number.

Most every graduate program has a formal guideline that includes proper citation of electronic resources which do not have page numbers. I suggest you find this information, show it to your profj and let him know you are following the official guidelines adopted by your seminary. He may not "like it" but if you are doing citation according to the accepted format, he should be willing to accept it. That was my experience years ago at least. It took some extra work (especially for old profs that don't even know what the "internet" is) but if you provide due dilligence, it should be okay.

I'll admit I haven't checked all the resources, but in some I just randomly checked in the library, it has the page # listed in the resource window (I've highlighted the place in the window.. and if you take a clipping and look at the bibliography info on the back of the clipping it has the page # included in Turabian format. I'll have to look in other books, or maybe you could indicate which resources don't include the page #.

funny, I'll follow a link in google reader to forum postings, and write a response, and then when I go to post, I suddenly find a few other posts that aren't showing until after I post...
