Evening all
(I've tried to search on the forums under "notes", "documents" etc but get an error message saying "Sorry, there was a problem with your last request! Either the site is offline or an unhandled error occurred. We apologize and have logged the error. Please try your request again ......"... needless to say the "try again" does not work either)
Some 5 weeks or so ago I started using the Document | Notes feature to create exegetical notes for my sermon preparation. My notes are set out as Book Name, Chapter#, pericope (or verses x-y), eg:
Jas 1: 16-18,
Jas 1:19-21 etc
within each of those I would have separate sections for the different verses, eg for Jas 1:16-18 I would have verse 16, verse 17, verse 18
This has worked quite well so far, however tonight I ran into a major issue while doing some exegetical work.
Last week I created notes for this particular James text (1:16-18). Earlier tonight I started working on the next portion, 19-21, and the 16-18 verses were still there in their separate little boxes. I had just finished the whole section, when my notes disappeared before my eyes... (yes, having been in the IT support business for many years I know the user comment "it just disappeared, I really did not press any button or anything"... for which I now have much more sympathy!)
For some reason I thought I'd check the previous weeks' work, and to my surprise and dismay, some of their sections are missing too:
- Last week's work, verses 16-18, now only has verse 16 - verse 17 & 18 missing
- Today's work on verses 19-21 - only verse 20 remains
- Twee weeks ago's work (13-15) - all verses there
- Three weeks ago's work (9-12) - only verses 11-12 remain
There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which verses are gone and which remain.
So, the questions are: (1) does Faithlife keep backups of such user documents, (2) if so, how far do they go back and (3) how do I access them?
(I've logged into the Documents section of my faithlife profile and confirmed the documents there are the same as what I have - hoped they would have still been older ones, but no luck)
Any help would be much appreciated
thanks
Colin
