HOW CAN I PRINT HELP ARTICLES

I was just beginning to get the hand of Logos 3 when I upgraded to 4 - now I am repenting!

One key for me is the help articles (yes, I know about the other stuff but I love to be able to see it when I have questions) - which I cannot figure out how to print. There are NO right click options - so I'm stuck.

Someone please help me - you all seem so knowledgeable that I'm feeling defeated already (what the heck is granularity anyway?). Anyway, someone please help me.

I think the best you can do is to select the article you want to print and paste it into a word processor and print from there.

Printing is not yet implemented. Some improvement is scheduled for 2nd quarter 2010, but there is not indication of that means.

I probably wasn't as clear as I needed to be. There is NO way that I've found to "select the article" in help for printing. Right click = NADA! Do you know another way?

I'm from Texas, Floyd, so I'll just cut straight to the chase. Help that cannot be printed can hardly be an oversight in software that is so sophisticated as Logos 4 is supposed to be.

A generous observer might say that maybe Logos figured everyone knew enough that printing Help articles wasn't necessary. But I use "help" a lot in the various programs I use, because I am not an expert on computers - and I doubt that I'm the only one who needs an occasional article printed.

To whomever is monitoring this thread: Whatever the motivation for the 'no print" feature -: PLEASE for heaven's sake (pun, there) - HELP ME PRINT HELP!

You can use Ctrl->C to copy the text (after you've selected what you want).

But as an added bonus, I've done it for you and pasted the entire Help file into a Word doc for your printing enjoyment (37 pages):

Mind you, the hot links don't work in the Word doc (but they wouldn't work on paper either so I guess that doesn't matter).

Actually, Bob Pritchett thought that printing was of limited value given the user data that LOGOS received. So, as I understand it, printing was never going to be a major part of version 4. It was only after a good number of customers complained that the decision was made to add printing at some future time. Whether that includes Help or not, I cannot say. I am surprised that you cannot even copy help as you can other LOGOS material.

Also, a quick search of the forums will convince you that you are not alone in your concern about the lack of printing. The general consensus, albeit, not universal, is that the functionality of version 4 is such that it was worth being released, even if it was not completely ready for all users.

The best way to get help that can be printed is two-fold:

Search the forums using Google. Form your search by adding "site:community.logos.com" to your search terms. For example, if you wanted help with printing, you might enter print help site:community.logos.com .
Take time to skim the wiki ("wiki.logos.com"). The text based material can be printed - but you will also find videos to assist you in the use of Version 4 of LOGOS.

I hope some of that helps. It may be that someone else will have more precise help.

Floyd gives good advice. In many cases the articles on the wiki are much better than what is provided in the help files and you can print it out!
