Ok I have a question? What can I do with Logos 3 after getting Logos 4? Can I sell Logos 3, or do I still need it, AND WHY?
I would keep it installed for now. There are features (notably printing) that are available in L3 that are not yet built into L4. There may also continue to be features that are in L3 that will never be available in L4 - such as a better integration of Strong's numbers.
As for selling or giving your L3 away, I doubt that you can do this. The software itself is free - anybody can download it. The books, which you have purchased, are now installed for use with version 4. Thus you cannot give them away unless you want to delete them from you current library.
Others may have more to say, but that is how I understand it.

You cannot sell Logos 3 if you use Logos 4. Using Logos 4 means you are still using your resources so even though you are no longer using the Logos 3 software, the resources you used in Logos 3 are still being used in Logos 4.
As for what to do with the CDs, I haven't thrown my V3 cd's away yet, but I will be in the not too distant future.

My stack of Logos v3 media is in the trash as of yesterday. It was a bittersweet parting. I'm glad I never need to swap CDs anymore.
You must really have a lot of faith ion the "cloud."
If you don't have enough room, then maybe throw away the bulky cardboard boxes. The CD's can all fit into a small container.

I back up my Logos install to external harddrive. But still, it's not about faith: the version 3 CDs are obsolete: both the software and the resource files have been replaced by newer versions.

The functionality is not obsolete until L4 matches it, therefore I will keep v3 Installation DVD's until v3 is truly obsolete (as is Logos 2!).
Well, I just purchased the Scholars Gold Library in L4 about a month ago (first bought Leaders in Nov. 09, upgraded almost immediately to Scholars and then finally Scholars Gold last month - long way around I guess) - and I can't believe that anyone would want to completely ditch L3.
Granted, I never really learned to use L3 (had it for a few years tho) until I got all the L4 resources that we're able to "backport" into L3. But now that I have them, I'm learning to use L3 and L4 at the same time. And I really like them both!
L3 is still is a very capable Bible Software program and it still has several features that Logos 4 hasn't implemented yet. Some they may never implement - like full function note taking capability. So you, of course, can make your own decision about what to do with it, but if it was my decision to make, the only way I'd get rid of L3 is if I just did not have the disk space to keep it on my hard drive.
Okay, I take that back . . . I'd just go out and get a bigger hard drive![;)]
Presuming you upgraded from Version 3 to Version 4 your resources licenses were also transferred to your Version 4 installation. So the short answer is: "No, you can not sell off your resources unless you are ready to lose those titles from yur library. And then they must be removed in the same blocks you acquired them in."
Chris, (or anybody else for that matter)
If you are just throwing away your Version 3 CDs but keeping your resource licenses, I am interested in purchasing them for media only backup purposes. I don't need any codes because I have Portfolio Edition. I run Version 4 on my desktop. I am keeping Version 3 on my old laptop for a while along with PBBs from StillTruth. I suspect there will come a day when the old files are no longer available. Of course I could just burn a backup of the resources (didn't I do that already?) But the truth is, I like Logos memorabilia. [:P] I've got Logos Version 1.6, Version 2.0, Version 3.0, crosswords, Dead Sea Scr..... I ramble..
If you'd part with Version 3 discs (only) drop me a note at Supertramp at Cox [dot} net
I'm also looking for another Logos mug (blue outside & stainless inside. My first one sat too close to a heat source [:@])
What can I do with Logos 3 after getting Logos 4?
You could use it as a backup to L4 so you can play with beta.... [:D]
