This Guy Sure Gets Annoying

Yes. Better, he should have a button to ask him to go help someone else!

Usually I see some kind of a dismiss button on these types of things, but no luck here. I agree, let's at least get him out of the way.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Mark and TC, I was thinking the same thing!

Rick,
Is your question regarding the interaction on iPad? Or do you have some other issue?

It is about the web site on an iPad. I hope that I can explain this well, I really am not a very good communicator.
When using my iPad, whenever I scroll, the picture stays in the same place and covers parts of the screen that I would like to see. For example, looking at my posted screen shot, I can not see under the picture to see where the dots that show what is included in a package are. Instead I have to scroll up and down to see what is behind the picture. An option to close the picture would alleviate the problem. This is troublesome when I am trying to take my time and look at and compare what resource is in what package.
EDIT: I only notice this on my iPad and not my desktop or laptop. I don't browse the site on my phone, but I would imagine this could be a bigger problem on such a small screen.

I noticed this only today and gave up browsing as a result.

I see what you are saying, Rick. I'm able to recreate the same behavior. The pop up for help, as you have in your screen shot above, is the same for me. I have it on my desktop but it is to the far right and not an issue ... even on my laptop. But for smaller displays it definitely gets in the way. Not sure what the answer is there.

I am traveling using a small laptop with high-def screen, trying to browse. I am sure he is a very nice man and probably very helpful, but he will not go away so I can see my screen!

If you disable Javascript, he realizes he is not welcome.

It would sure be nice to have a place on him to click in order to minimize him.

I dispatched him on my PC using Adblock plus. Can't do that on my iPad.

Guy, guy, go away! I had this problem yesterday on my desktop. I had to reduce the size of the internet page to avoid him covering up part of the comparison chart.

I've used that solution. But I wish that I didn't seem to have to. I'm sure Faithlife will notice this thread soon and fix the problem eventually.

The social dynamic of pressing button so someone disappears is quite disturbing.....[H]

Agreed, I did actually use the chat to place my L7 order, for the 1st time ever, but I have to admit, that when trying to compare packages, this little picture drove me crazy too. I thought 'surely there must be a way to dismiss this that I'm missing'. I guess not. lol

Poor Todd! I wonder if someone nice will alert him to this thread [A]

Todd here; wow; I had no idea I was so annoying! and I continue to annoy, even after leaving Logos. [:)] I'll suggest they move the box and change the picture. Thank you to all my former customers; I miss you and hope you are well.

I'd be more concerned about them continuing to use your picture. You should get a royalty or something...

You are forgiven. And I wish you a blessed, successful fruitful future. Your memory will apparently linger long. I presume contacting you through that box is not an option. I have tried and got nothing. So maybe it doesn't work anyway. But the picture is quite nice!

Out of respect for you - I am boycotting any use of your likeness from here on in. I hope you have found greener, richer, God-honoring, joy Todd.

Still have to scroll the page to view information which is obscured by the chat ad.
To the sales rep whose image has recently replaced Todd's picture: Couldn't you have asked FL to add a dismiss option, before agreeing that they could use your likeness? [:^)]
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

My vote too for a dismiss button.
Any time I follow email links for new products and find the "helpful" box in the way, I tend to just give up. Its losing sales, NOT helping sales.
